There are several types of trainings at the NASEY as shown in the table of programmes on page 5.Access in Level I is reserved for holders baccalaureates C, D, E, and F, or the GCE AL in pure mathematics, la mechanics, la physics and Chemistry or any other equivalent diploma.
Candidates to each of these diplomas are admitted subject to the presentation of the testimonial of success at the beginning of the academic year.
The competitive entrance per se comprises two (02) papers: one in mathematics and one of physics set from Terminale C programme. The competitive entrance holds early in July every year and the deadline for the submission of candidacy files is end of June of the same year.
Candidates to this Level should not be older than twenty five (25) in January the first (01/01/year) of the same year.
Admission into Level III is two-fold:
- Direct admission for holders of a DEUG-MPS-SI from the NASEY with an average of 12/20 and above.
- Admission through competitive entrance and studying of files for holders of a DEUG or a DUT that correspond to the various subjects at the NASEY, of Bachelor’s degrees in mathematics, physics and chemistry, mechanics, computer science, of the diploma of Civil Engineer (Bac + 3) or any other equivalent diploma. Professionals meeting all the requirements can sit the competitive entrance. They are also required to produce an authorisation from their employer.
It is noteworthy that the training last five (05) years for those admitted into Level I (with two years (02) of common core and three (03) years of specialisation) and three (03) years for those who are admitted into Level III.
Admission into the Research Cycle
Selection into the Master of Research programme is based on the studying of files and is restricted to holders the diploma of design engineers. It takes place in October. Selection into the Doctorate programme is restricted to holders of a Master of Research; it also takes place in October every year.
Foreigmers with refugee status and those concerned with CEMAC agreements have the same rights and obligations as Cameroonians. Therefore, they should sit the competitive entrance alongside Cameroonians.
A ministerial text is issued every year to fix the dates, admission requirements and the composition of the competitive entrances’ files.
Admission into the Masters’ Programme
Master in Applied Statistics
The Master in Applied Statistics is a training programme which is opened to all the CEMAC member countries and all African countries at large. Its objective is to train highly qualified researchers and specialists with a sound mastery of the instruments of statistics and information which are necessary to practices in the health, agronomy, industry and even the tertiary sectors.
The Master in Applied Statistics is a two-year (02) training programme which is opened to holders of :
• Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics or any other equivalent diploma
This notwithstanding, holders of a Maîtrise (Master I) in Mathematics can be admitted into year two of the Master.
Professionals can be admitted into this Master programme (Physicians, Agricultural Engineers)
Professional Master in Telecommunications (MASTEL)
The NASEY offers distance training in telecommunications. It is multidisciplinary academic training that combines theoretical and technical aspects with the aim of equipping learners with specific competences in the field of telecommunications. This one-year training programme is opened to holders of:
• Maîtrise or BAC/GCEAL + 4 (EEA, Mathematics, Physics and Computer Science).
• Diploma of Engineer (Telecommunication and Computer Science)
• Any other equivalent diploma
